How do you walk the talk re: social media?
Everything I preach I practice. Here are three Twitter guidelines we share with clients and which I practice myself:
What one practical tip can you recommend regarding the use of social media? Just do it, you can’t break Twitter or Facebook.
What do you think is the perfect age? Your (the read) age right now. You are perfect and so is your age.
What is your guiltiest pleasure? Bacon and ice-cream, sometimes apart sometimes together.
What are you really good at? Solving problems and getting things done.
Name one thing you will never understand. Extremism
Share something on your mind lately. Mindfulness has been on my mind a lot lately. Doing social media marketing work takes a lot of time spent in the virtual reality of a digital space. But to be most effective there and in our daily lives we need to find the right balance between being online and being present and mindful. A very wise woman I met at a conference asked us, “do you get out of bed in the morning before you put your feet on the ground?” That struck a chord with me and I am sure with many people who check Facebook before they even get out of bed. So I spent the past month re-organizing how I spend my time. For example, I now don’t read email the first thing in the morning and I dedicate specific hours of the day to email, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. Rather than allowing digital devices and networks to control my time, I took that control back.
I really like the message of pause and mindfulness you share Mana! It’s ok to purposefully unplug.
