How do you walk the talk re: social media?

As a senior digital strategist for Hult Marketing I help our clients differentiate between all of the different tools to determine what are the best tools to reach their customers.  I also use my blog www.ericosterman.com to teach job seekers how to leverage social media in their job search.

What one practical tip can you recommend regarding the use of social media?

Learn Boolean search strings.  Being able to find exactly what you need online in a short period of time is a huge advantage in the workforce.

What do you think is the perfect age?

68 – That’s the age when you’re still “with it enough” to know what’s going on but you’re old enough that when you say something completely inappropriate people will say “Oh that’s just Grandpa”.

What is your guiltiest pleasure?

Firehouse Pizza

What are you really good at?

Using social networks to gain access to people that are very hard to contact & Mega Man 2

Name one thing you will never understand.

Why all light rock stations in BloNo insist on playing “Truly Madly Deeply” by Savage Garden 4 times a day from 8-5.

Share something on your mind lately

My 14 month old daughter is at her happiest when she gets to wear a bowl on her head and walk around the house.  I tried it with her the other day to see what all the excitement was about and didn’t get quite the same adrenaline rush she did.

Here in the midwest, we don't talk about social media, we put it to practical use. Check out all the ways we walk the talk on Flickr.
