New year’s resolutions are generally not unique, nor do they even need to wait for the new year. Eating healthy, exercising more, reading, cleaning out clutter, spending more time with family and friends—we already know we should do these things in our normal lives. The same can be said for social media. The following are five resolutions for you to make that will bring your social media properties to the next level or just keep them shining bright. But don’t look for any surprises on this list…each of these are things you already know you should be doing!

Your Customers have Questions… You have Answers!
THE MOST IMPORTANT videos you will ever make are those that answer your customers questions… I have made hundreds of HOW TO… Videos – these were of low quality with minimal editing, and what I discovered is that it is all about your CONTENT!!! GREAT CONTENT is the KEY!

In the above video – I am teaching common words/phrases using sign language.

Even though I am not even an expert when it comes to signing, (*Side Note: At one point we used sign language a lot with my sister who has special needs) there are a lot of people that certainly want to learn “how to” sign.

Check out the view count – over 668,000+ views and growing on You Tube. That’s on one video alone – there are 14 more in the series…
The “How To” videos that I created range anywhere from “How to Paint Stripes on a Wall”, “How to Pack for your Upcoming Cruise,” “How to Play Mancala,” and so so many more! Things that I felt I was knowledgeable in or passionate about.
BUT WHEN YOU APPLY THIS TO YOUR BUSINESS – 2 IMPORTANT THINGS HAPPEN!
1: You become an EXPERT / AUTHORITY figure in your field/career - Giving you INSTANT CREDIBILITY –
2: You GET SEEN and GET NOTICED!

When thinking of making FAQ videos – ask yourself these simple Questions:
What are the TOP 10 Questions people ASK ME about my business?
What are the TOP 10 Questions people SHOULD BE ASKING ME about my business?
You will then come up with a list of 10 or 20 FAQs to get you started.
Once these have been uploaded to your Website, Facebook, You Tube, etc. – I bet you notice you aren’t asked these questions as often as you were before.

WHY?
Your customers are smart and savvy! They are researching you and your business online, before they even come into contact with you…
So now – you have your videos posted and you’re educating your customers, even when you aren’t there in person!

BE THE TV! Be the Voice! Be the Vision!
Happy Filming!

Environmental Visual Essayist Goes VideoIt’s Earth Day !  I thought I’d introduce you to a blogger, artist, and environmental essayist from Toronto, Frank James.

Franke’s blog was the very first blog I ever visited. Once you see her work you will understand why I was so impressed. She has her own way of sharing.

Franke is one of my green heroes.  She is a woman who walks her talk big time!!  She’s not an in your face green advocate, more like someone who graciously leads by example!  She asks provocative questions and she is someone who humbly wonders outloud! I first learned of her when she let go of her SUV, yes she completely stopped drivingI then watched her turn her driveway into an unpaved paradise . I’ve admired her further when she developed workshops that provoke and inspire young adults and their green consciousness.I’ve even recommended her as a keynote to my daughters college and to the corporation I work for simply because I find Franke’s messages so very compelling.  More so, I love the creative way she shares them.  Franke recently turned her most recent illustrated essay intovideo! Franke examples social media with a consistent message.  Adding video to her particular expression is very fitting.  This particular video message helps us understand the collaborative and forest protecting efforts of FSC Canada.

Two Hundred Fifty Word Challenge:  why I blog in 250 words or less

Many would agree that the need to be heard can be very strong.  Some thrive on being heard more than others. I am one of those.  Add my curious, sharing and passionate self and my remarkable enthusiasm for oh…everything, and one will find that I am someone who cannot be contained.  I often must say.  While I knew this about myself to some degree, I didn’t realize at what level having voice defined my very core.  Creative expression either in written form, in photography or my being effusive, meaningway more verbally demonstrative than some often care for.  Blogging has me expressed! I love to blog for many reasons, but mostly I blog because I can be me.  We are all continuing to become.  Would you agree?  I know I am. The blog world is forgiving.  It’s a very generous place and the truth is it isn’t particularly selective. It has infinite room for all of us! We get to choose who we read, like, follow, friend and comment with. The vastness of this has me in awe. The impact and reach my blog has continues to humble me. Each and every day a person, email or commenter tells me something I’ve shared, written or photographed made a difference for them.  This is why I blog.

Blogging As An Expert

Blogging is often about being an expert in your field.  I found in my wellness consulting I was repeatedly sharing the value of a particular nutrient Why not write the details into a post?  When someone asks again I can then send them a link! Better yet, why not write a vast array of informative posts so google searches can find the posts as well. My blog celebrates five years this summer and is loaded with informative/ expert style information. This style of blogging has made me a reliable reference source, improve my visibility, adding  to my credibility and reinforcing my personal brand. It continues to walk my social media talk

Below is a sample of sharing expertise:

In the land of nutritional supplementation with all the many nutrients to choose from,  given all the reasons why you need and could benefit from them.  It is very easy to see why supplementation is so appealing.  It’s also easy to see why it’s so darn confusing too!

In the land of what I do best, I sort all that hype and gobbly gook and help a client figure out what might be a fit for them.  I like everyone to feel that they actually know why this stuff is going into their body.

Why do they call Vitamin B The Happy Vitamin?

Some things to know about B Vitamins:

All B’s must be taken together in a complex form…This includes Thiamin, Riboflavin, B6, B12, Niacin, Folic Acid, Biotin, and Pantothenic Acid. ( all b complex vitamins are not created equal, as a matter of fact most regularly skimp on  folic acid and biotin )

B Vitamins are water soluble. (this means you burn through them and they are not stored in the body)

The more processed “snicky snacky” stuff you eat the more B Vitamins you need.

B Vitamins are depleted by these foods : coffee, alcohol, refined sugar and white flour. (aka as the four basic food groups - ha! )

They are destroyed by sleeping pills, sulfa drugs, estrogen: birth control and hormone replacement therapy

B Vitamins convert food to energy. ( this is the coolest thing )

Infection and stress increase the need for B’s. ( the stress part especially )

B Vitamins are necessary for normal function by the nervous system.

B Vitamins help produce protective antibodies.

B Vitamins assist with the manufacturing of healthy blood cells.

B Vitamins redistribute fat and convert fat to energy.

B Vitamins are needed by the body to reduce homocysteine levels.

B Vitamins reduce the risk of heart disease.

B Vitamins prevent birth defects, cervical dysplacia, and colon cancer.

B Vitamins promote healthy hair and skin.

B Vitamins support normal growth in children.
If you think of the nerves, the brain, your hormones and your adrenals, all of these are areas in the body that benefit the most from B Vitamins.

If your not taking a quality B Complex, please consider our product.

Knowing that no two peoples needs are the same – watch the color of your urine as your gauge

( I know — I’m talking about the color of your pee!)

If you take a B Complex in the morning and your urine is pale by lunch time you are burning through your  B.

This means you need to take more and take it thoughout the day.

Taking B Vitamins definitely can contribute to a shift in attitude!

Take your B’s and BE HAPPY.
