Press Release: Call for Speakers

@Midwest announces a call for speakers

@Midwest recently announced a call for speakers at the 2nd Annual Social Media Conference to be held on June 21, 2012, at Heartland Community College’s Astroth Community Education Center. @Midwest is a one-day forum where experts address small to mid-sized business professionals who seek a presence in social media or are looking to enhance their practices. The conference is looking for local experts and business professionals who are willing to volunteer as a session speaker. The conference is looking to fill 6 to 8 session speakers.

This year’s social media conference is looking for speakers who approach topics in a fun, educational manner. Topics may include, but are not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, branding, and blogs. Speakers should provide professionals with the necessary skills to use social media as a tool to grow their business. In addition, session speakers may address different levels of interest and skills among attendees, including beginner, amateur, and professional. Each session will include approximately 40-50 attendees and will last for an hour. If you are interested in volunteering your expertise and skills to @Midwest, we encourage you to submit your idea(s) online. To send a proposal, please visit atMidwest.com and click on the session ideas tab under the session section. The call for speakers ends March 15, 2012.

If you are unable to volunteer as a session speaker but would still like to be a part of the conference, there are a number of ways to offer your services, including sponsorship. For more information about sponsorship opportunities, please contact atMidwest.com.

@Midwest came to fruition after a series of meetings between professionals in the Bloomington-Normal area discussing issues surrounding the best practices of social media and ways to evaluate social media marketing. The goal of @Midwest is for all attendees to gain real-world, practical knowledge of how to utilize social media in achieving their professional goals.
